JV beats Sidney 40-12.

The JV traveled to Sidney Sat. morning for the battle of the warriors. Walton had early troubles handling the ball, but their defense stepped up and Austin Boice sacked the Sidney QB in the end zone for a safety. Sidney kicked off from their twenty and Eddie Dickson ran the kick-off back 77 yards for a TD. Shortly after, Chris Calabrese picked up a fumble and returned it 44 yards for 6 pts. The Walton o-line once again did a wonderful job keeping their opponents out of the backfield. Qb Dan Gehl had plenty of time to throw some beautiful passes. He hit Split-end Phil Gladstone down the sideline on a nice delhi-fly. The pass covered about 40 yards and Phil went in for the TD. In the second half, Kyle Baxley had a beautiful catch on a 25 play-pass, which covered 30 yards. He went out of bounds on the 3yd line and Evan Boyd scored from his full-back position. Baxley then ran in the 2 pt. conversion on a nice option play. In the 4th quarter, the second offense had some nice drives but just couldn't punch it in. Devon Ryan, Nate Glerum, Collin Hendrickson, Brendon Gregory and Brian Caffery all had success running he ball. Walton's starting D-line looked awesome. For the 3rd game in a row, the first defense did not allow a point. Many of Sidney' passes were incomplete due to our pass rush. Walton plays Delhi, home Friday at 4:30.
